A $1,000 reward is now being offered in the hopes the city of Bainbridge Island can arrest the thief who stole the propellers off the city's police boat last week.

The Bainbridge Island Police Department announced the reward late Monday.

Officials earlier said three stainless steel propellers worth $2,000 were taken from the city's police boat while it was moored at the Queens City Yacht Club on the south end of Eagle Harbor.

The propellors were made by Quicksilver, and were described as being 12 inches in diameter in size with four blades each. Police said two propellers were right-handed and one was left-handed.

Crime Stoppers is now offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of parties involved.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
