November 22, 2012 · Updated 12:22 PM

Extra officers will be on patrol during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” holiday campaign.

Police will be canvassing roadways through Jan. 1 throughout Kitsap County searching for impaired drivers.

The Bainbridge Island Police Department, along with officers from the Bremerton, Port Orchard, Poulsbo and Suquamish departments, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol will participate in the added patrols.

The enforcement effort is organized and supported by the Kitsap County Target Zero Task Force. “Target Zero” is Washington state’s goal to end traffic deaths and serious injuries by the year 2030.
