Grace period ends for boaters

The city of Bainbridge Island is reminding local boaters to keep their vessel registration current.

The 2012 vessel registrations expired in June. All island vessels requiring registration need to have a blue 2013 Washington State vessel registration decal displayed.

“The grace period has ended, and owners of vessels that are not currently registered are now subject to a $257 ticket,” said Bainbridge Island Police Commander Sue Shultz.
