Volunteers needed for planting project

Volunteers are needed to help Weed Warriors, Bainbridge Island Parks and Student Conservation Corps at a planting project Sunday, Nov. 18 at Blakely Harbor Park.
The group will be planting native species in a modified swale at the park from 1 to
3 p.m. Volunteers should park in the lot by 3T.
Help is also needed from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 to remove holly at Fort Ward. Volunteers should park by the boat ramp. Volunteers can help bundle holly for the holidays and take some home.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, the group will distribute free bundles of holly at the Winter Market at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church with explanations of “Why is English Holly bad; what to plant instead; and how to dispose of it after the season is over.”
