Turnout now at 58 percent in Kitsap County

Turnout for the 2012 General Election in Kitsap County passed the 58 percent mark Monday.
The Kitsap County Elections Division reported receiving a total of 10,805 ballots on Nov. 5, the day before the general election.
It was the most ballots that have come in on a single day so far this election season. The previous one-day high for ballot returns was 9,919 on Oct. 24.
The new ballots push the total number of ballots received to 98,011.
County officials estimate that 152,681 voters are eligible to cast ballots in this election.
