Public hearing, vote scheduled for new car tab fee

November 3, 2012 · 9:56 AM

Bainbridge Island's new Transportation Benefit District will hold a public hearing later this month on a new $20 vehicle tab licensing fee.

Revenue from the new fee would pay for road improvement projects on the island, and the car tab fees would not be assessed until six months after the board's approval of the proposal.

The public hearing is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Bainbridge Island City Hall. The board is expected to vote on the resolution imposing a vehicle tab license fee after the hearing.

Comments on the new car tab fee can be submitted prior to the meeting. The clerk of the board will accept hand-delivered, mailed or emailed comments via the city clerk’s email address at cityclerk@bainbridgewa.gov.
