September 29, 2012 · 10:13 AM

The first meeting of the Bainbridge Island’s new Transportation Benefit District is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The agenda for the meeting is expected to include the appointment of a chairman, the creation of a meeting schedule, and consideration of an interlocal agreement with the city of Bainbridge Island.

The city council set up the district as a way to adopt a license tab fee that could provide new revenue for city road projects.

City council members will serve as the board members for the new district.
