An intruder menaced an 86-year-old woman in her Weaver Road-area home Monday morning before making off on foot.

Police say the victim was expecting a plumber when the suspect came to door and represented himself as the contractor around 10 a.m. Once inside the residence, he told the woman he could not fix the plumbing problem and advised her to have someone clean her hot water heater.

As she escorted him to the front door, the suspect suddenly grabbed her around the waist from behind and hugged her, reportedly saying, "You live here alone."

The woman was able to make her way to the front door and held it open, and the intruder left the home on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years of age, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, with balding brown hair.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Bainbridge Police at 842-5211.
