Ordway Jogathon looks for more sponsors

September 7, 2012 · Updated 4:49 PM

The annual Jogathon at Ordway Elementary is being planned for Friday, Sept. 28.

Money raised will go to the school’s parent-teacher organization, which supports technology, teacher grants for programs and supplies, special assemblies, arts programs and more.

Sponsorship packets go out Sept. 11. The fundraising goal for the Jogathon this year is $32,000.

On the day of the Jogathon, every Ordway student will run, jog, walk, roll, hand out water or cheer on fellow students for 20 minutes straight. Organizers have lined up volunteers  from CrossFit 98110 and the Bainbridge High School’s lacrosse team to help with warm ups and setting up the event.

Trophies will be awarded for the class that runs the most laps and the class that raises the most funds.
