August 17, 2012 · 1:26 PM

Sakai Intermediate School will have more fifth-grade students this school coming year than expected, according to Principal Jim Corsetti.

Corsetti sent his welcoming message for the new school year to parents Friday, Aug. 17 and said enrollment for the incoming fifth-grade class is larger than expected.

Another teacher will be added to the two fifth-grade teachers already on staff to handle the bump up in student enrollment.

The new teacher will be hired next week, Corsetti said.

Parents can check on their child's class placement by visiting the "Families" tab on the school's website, http://www.bisd303.org/domain/1148.

School starts on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Sakai Intermediate School will host a Welcome Back Ice Cream Social from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the school.
