Bainbridge Island Police Officer Carla Sias recently packed a rascally bunch into the back of her police car, though, not for breaking the law.
Sias visited the Peacock Family Center daycare on Madison Avenue and read “Officer Buckle and Gloria.” The book teaches safety lessons to youngsters.
“They seemed to like it,” Sias said. “But, I believe they were far more impressed with the car and its loud siren.”
The kids enjoyed a tour through Officer Sias’ patrol car before she left.
Her visit left enough of an impression that on Monday, Sias received a pleasant surprise from the daycare kids.
“They walked all the way to the police department and presented me with a very large ‘Thank You’ poster,” Sias said.
While the children were grateful, they may have also had an ulterior motive.
“(This) of course, was followed by another round of crawling around in the back of my patrol car,” Sias said.
