Bainbridge park board to take field trip

The board for the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District will meet next week to take a site visit to Eagledale Park to check out options for a proposed expansion of the off-leash dog area at the park.

The field trip will proceed the board's regular meeting on Thursday, Aug. 16.

Park commissioners will visit Eagledale Park from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The board meeting is 6 p.m. at the Strawberry Hill mini-gym.

At the regular meeting, park officials will talk about the options on expanding the dog area at Eagledale Park, and may take a vote on the proposals.

Other agenda items include discussion of a dog leash policy at the Japanese American Exclusion Memorial.

Commissioners will also review a lease agreement with the Battle Point Astronomical Association, and also take a look at the agreement for the association's sundial project.
