New vote tally keeps Forbes at 49 percent in Superior Court judge race

Jennifer Forbes of Poulsbo has picked up another 3,250 votes in her quest for Superior Court Judge Position 7.

Forbes continues to lead in the race, though her advantage dipped from 49.2 percent to 49.1 percent of the vote in Wednesday's vote tally.

Karen Klein of Bainbridge Island remains in second place in the four-way race, with 19.3 percent of all ballots cast, or 7,100. Her vote total has grown by 1,190 votes since Election Night.

Rob MacDermid remains in third with 16.9 percent (6,226 votes), and Bill Houser is in fourth with 13.9 percent (5,137 votes).

Forbes and Klein will advance to the General Election in November unless future vote tallies give Forbes more than 50 percent of the vote.

Kitsap County Elections has counted 42,768 ballots in the race, and turnout now stands at 29 percent of registered voters.

Elections officials estimate there will be another 16,800 ballots to count before the election is certified as official on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
