Bainbridge Island's McCloud leads in race for state Supreme Court

Sheryl McCloud of Bainbridge Island is leading in the race for the Justice Position 9 on the Washington State Supreme Court.

McCloud had 33.3 percent of the vote in the initial vote tally on Election Night.

Richard B. Sanders was second in the four-way race, with 29.9 percent of the vote.

In third place, Bruce Hilyer garnered 18.8 percent of votes cast. John W. Ladenburg was fourth with 17.7 percent.

A total of 295,242 votes have been counted.

McCloud has 98,578 votes; Sanders, 88,496; Hilyer, 55,654; and Ladenburg, 52,514.
