TRAFFIC ADVISORY | Highway still clogged after accident

July 30, 2012 · 5:11 PM

Travel on Highway 305 on Bainbridge Island remains a challenge after a two-car accident at Agate Pass Bridge earlier Monday.

Northbound traffic was still backed up from the bridge all the way to Madison Avenue just before 5 p.m.

Some drivers are not allowing other drivers to merge onto the highway at intersections on the north end of the island, according to those who are stuck in the mess.

The highway has been closed much of the afternoon. A single lane was opened to traffic a few hours after the 1 p.m. accident, and both lanes were reopened near the bridge shortly after 4 p.m.
