Navy divers have joined the search for a missing diver in Rich Passage.
A search was launched for a missing diver from the Department of Natural Resources in Rich Passage off Bainbridge Island at approximately 2:30 p.m., Tuesday.
The Bainbridge Island Fire Department, along with the Bainbridge Police Department, the Coast Guard, the Seattle Fire Department and the Kitsap County Sheriff are currently engaged in a search for a missing diver from the Department of Natural Resources.
Both the Bainbridge Fire and Police Departments' boats are on the scene. The Seattle Fire Department sent their fire boat Leschi.
"Right now we are on a dive rescue response," said Fire Marshal Luke Carpenter. "A Washington State (Department of Natural Resources) diver is missing."
"He went down, came up, and then went down again," Carpenter added.
The diver went missing around the fish farm pens near Fort Ward Park.
