Bainbridge Island Police Commander Sue Shultz introduced the police department’s newest member on Wednesday as she was sworn in at city hall.

Officer Aimee LaClaire was joined by a large crowd of family and friends, along with other island officers, to welcome her into the department. Judge Kathryn Carruthers performed the swearing-in ceremony in the council chambers.

LaClair’s partner, Gina Costlet, had the honor of making it official by pinning her badge on her uniform.
