Bainbridge Island begins advertising for a financial advisor

July 2, 2012 · 3:10 PM

The city of Bainbridge Island is seeking outside financial advisory services.

The city began advertising a request for proposal late last week.

Bainbridge officials said the city's usual outside financial advisory recently retired, and city hall hopes to hire an outside advisor to assist with preparations for bonds or other financial needs.

According to Finance Director Ellen Schroer, the city is not currently planning to issue a bond, however, but having an advisor on contract will help if a bond issue arises.

Schroer noted that the consultant may also help with emerging financial issues, such as short-term investment options.
