Judicial candidate forums to be held on Bainbridge

Bainbridge Island voters will help elect judges at all three levels of courts of general jurisdiction this year in Washington: Superior, Appellate and Supreme.

The Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge Island will help voters get informed about their choices by hosting judicial candidate forums on the evenings of Wednesday, June 27 and Wednesday, July 11 in the parish hall of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 1187 Wyatt Way.

Appellate Court candidates will appear from 7 to 8 p.m., and Superior Court candidates will appear from 8 to 9 p.m. June 27. State Supreme Court candidates will appear from 7 to 8:30 p.m. July 11.

Wayne Blair, a local attorney and former president of the Washington State Bar Association, will moderate the forums.

Judges make decisions on issues that affect all citizens in the state, and the Washington State Constitution places the selection of judges in the hands of the people. For more information about the candidates, visit
