Bainbridge Island man attempts to kill his wife

A 29-year-old Bainbridge Island man attempted to suffocated his wife at Around 8:40 a.m. Friday, June 15 with plastic wrap.
Police said the 35-year-old victim was able to to free herself as she fell on the floor, but her husband continued the assault after she had removed the plastic wrap and began to strangle her.
Her husband then left the room and she immediately called 911.
Police arrived to find the man sitting at his kitchen table. He allegedly admitted what he had done and was taken into custody. Police reported that he said he "wanted to end it."
Bainbridge Island Fire Department personnel provided aid to the woman before she was transported to a hospital.
The man was arrested for first-degree assault domestic violence and attempted second-degree murder.
He has been booked into the Kitsap County. Bail has been set at $1 million.
