June 14, 2012 · 4:21 PM

Islanders might want to steer clear of construction delays over the next month as the city of Bainbridge Island begins the process of repairing of many of its rocky roads.

An asphalt patching project will be carried out over the next month and is expected to be completed by the end of July.

Lakeside Industries of Issaquah will complete the work at a cost of $218,511.

Roads that will be repaired include Baker Hill, Crystal Springs, Blakely, Day, Eagle Harbor, Fletcher Bay, Fort Ward Hill, High School, Komedal, Manzanita, Lynwood Center, Miller, Parkview, Hilltop, Pleasant Beach, Phelps and Sportsman Club.

Repairs to Day Road between Phelps Road and North Madison Avenue are expected to cause limited closures that could last up to two days. Closures on Day Road are expected from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 19-22.
