The city council approved a contract with Lakeside Industries to take on the asphalt repair of the island’s suffering roads. The award for the contract was $218,511.

The roads repair project will consist of asphalt patching along some of the island’s more traveled roadways including Day Road, Sportsman Club Road, and Miller Road as it extends into Fletcher Bay Road and continues on to Lynwood Center Road.

Three bids were received for the project. Lakeside Industries came through with the lowest price for the city.
