Bainbridge council to hold special meeting on Shoreline Master Program

The Bainbridge Island City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday to get an overview of the new update to the island's Shoreline Master Program.

The meeting is 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at city hall.

The council plans to discuss the plan with city staff and will cover the update process, the science behind some of the plan's aspects, and a summary of the planning commission's recommendations for the update, including high-interest topics.

The review of designations for the Point Monroe area has been singled out for Tuesday's meeting and will also be addressed.

The meeting will conclude with an hour-long opportunity for the public to voice concerns and provide input on the shoreline program and the process.

The agenda for the meeting can be found on the city's website at
