Coast Guard looking for missing diver near Blake Island

The Coast Guard started searching Sunday for a diver who went missing near Blake Island just south of Bainbridge Island.

Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received a call at approximately 11:50 a.m. May 20 about a diver who failed to surface near shore just south of Blake Island.

The Coast Guard sent two 25-foot response boat crews and a 45-foot response boat crew from Station Seattle, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Port Angeles and the Coast Guard Cutter Wahoo to the scene to conduct a search.

The Port Orchard and Seattle fire departments are also assisting with the search, and have sent divers to look for the missing diver.
