Rash of burglaries in Hidden Cove
September 19, 2011 · 8:22 PM
Residents in the Hidden Cove area have been hit with a rash of burglaries over the last several days.
Three burglaries occurred over the weekend and four in the prior week. One of the burglaries was in an occupied home at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. The residents awoke to a burglar who entered the home through an unlocked second story window using a ladder from the property.
The homeowners were not harmed, and contacted the authorities. According to Bainbridge Island Police Department Cmdr. Sue Shultz the burglar took a cell phone and charger from the home during Saturday's break-in.
The BIPD do not have any suspects at this time, but are working on leads, according to Shultz.
Shutlz reminded homeowners to secure their homes and vehicles as it appears the suspect(s) have gained entrance to the homes through open doors and windows.
