Olsen sentenced to 30 years

Edward Mark Olsen, 50, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on April 11 for attempted second-degree murder and 100 months for malicious mischief.

A jury found Olsen guilty last December after he broke into his former girlfriend’s Bainbridge Island home and poured gasoline over her as she slept in November 2009.

Olsen’s 12-year-old son was sleeping in the same bed during the incident, which triggered a harsher sentence.
