The council is planning to use its all-day annual retreat to review the events and decisions of 2010 and to revisit the 2011 work plan.

The morning session will likely be held in the upstairs conference room of Pegasus Coffee House beginning at 9 a.m.

Councilors plan to review the structure of council meetings and policy; the citizen committee selection process; communications policy; select a mayor; and participate in an ethics training and presentation put on by the city attorney and the ethics board.

The afternoon session will be held at City Hall and will be focused on 2011 planning. Councilors will be charged with reviewing city staff plans for each department, expected challenges and strategic planning.

Morgan Smith, the city’s deputy city manager, said she hopes the afternoon will help create an actual living, breathing road map to define what the city needs to achieve in 2011.
