Girls hoopsters no match for Holy Names

The Holy Names Cougars got out to a 27-5 lead after one quarter and didn't look back, defeating the Bainbridge Spartans 66-43 Wednesday night at Paski Gymnasium.

The Cougars used its press defense to force the Spartans into 31 turnovers for the game.

Erika Johnson led all scorers with 23 points. Davi Gonzales led Bainbridge with 19 points.

The girls host Lakeside at 8 p.m. Friday, then wrap up the homestand with a game against rivals North Kitsap Monday.
