Mackin accepts Chamber position
October 28, 2010 · 3:33 PM
Andrea Mackin, Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association has accepted a position as the new Director of Operations and Marketing for the Chamber of Commerce.
"Part of my decision was based on the uncertainty of BIDA’s future due to our recent loss of city funding, and my own personal situation," said Mackin in an e-mail. "I can assure you that my allegiance to the merchants who have become such great friends in the process will travel directly with me as I move down the street.”
She said the decision was difficult to make.
Mackin will begin part-time on Monday and said she will help BIDA navigate the transition through the end of the year, and hopes the two organizations can continue to collaborate for the benefit of the entire island community.
