A bevy of beasts, a horde of horrors, a slew of superheroes and even still more fantastic faces dotted the cavalcade of characters that descended upon downtown Winslow Tuesday evening, when, golden, autumnal sunset shedding the fading rays of daylight down upon the throng, the riotous ritual of trick-or-treating once more was observed.

Winslow Way was again closed to cars from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 31, and those who made the pilgrimage were gifted a treat for the eyes as well as the sweetest of teeth, feasting on comical, creepy and downright crazy costumes along with the sugary treasures dolled out by merchants and shopkeepers.

Minions remained staple presences among the holiday outfits. As did superheroes and figures from the “Star Wars” universe.

Though a few dotted the crowd, there were not nearly so many political character as one might have expected, though a few “Aliens for DACA” were seen enjoying the end-of-October Earthly custom.
