‘South Pacific’ returns to the big screen

“South Pacific,” the 1958 American romantic musical film based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the same name, will return to the big screen at Bainbridge Cinemas at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 for a special 60th anniversary screening.

In it, an American woman falls in love with a Frenchman while stationed as a navy nurse in the South Pacific during World War II. The 60th anniversary showing will also include exclusive insight from Turner Classic Movies experts.
