smARTfilm series continues with “Summer 1993”

The latest Bainbridge Island Museum of Art smARTfilm series will continue at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 with a special screening of Carla Simon’s “Summer 1993” (2018).

Based on the real experiences of writer/director Simon, this film follows 6-year-old Frida as she moves in with her aunt and uncle after her mother’s death. This coming-of-age drama is an extraordinarily moving snapshot of being a child in an adult world, full of flawless performances.

Curated and hosted by TJ Faddis, the screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion.

Tickets, $10-$12 each, are available now via www.brownpapertickets.com (Event #4032512).

Dinner seating at the BIMA Bistro starts at 5:30 p.m., with reservations recommended; call 206-451-4011 (cost of dinner not included in ticket price). Doors open at 7.
