Eagle Harbor Book Company will host Seattle-based author Maria Semple (author of “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?”), who will talk about her new book “Today Will Be Different” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

Bainbridge Island author Jonathan Evison will join her up front in conversation about her book, writing and the vagaries of life.

Her new novel, already a staff recommendation at the Winslow bookstore, charts the day in the life of a frazzled, if endearing, Seattle mother/wife/artist. Eleanor knows she’s a mess. But today, she’ll tackle the little things. She will shower and get dressed. She will have her poetry and yoga lessons after dropping off her son Timby.
