Island Gallery presents ‘Spring Forward’ show

The Island Gallery will present the exhibition “Spring Forward,” a showcase of traditional and contemporary furniture design, in April.

The new show opens during the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, April 5. An artists’ reception is 6 to 8 p.m.

Participating artists in the exhibition include Chris Demarest, L. Wendy Dunder, Makoto Imai, Bill Koss and Carl Yurdin.

Featuring her jewelry collection, Native Americans:

Begona Rentero will also be featuring her jewelry collection, “Native Americans.”

“Spring Forward” presents both traditional and contemporary furniture design from Northwest furniture craftsmen; traditional Japanese joinery methods and materials, contemporary design elements, Northwest hand-blown glass and native woods. The show will also feature Rentero’s new collection, “Native Americans,” inspired by Native Americans and the American West landscape.

The Island Gallery is at 400 Winslow Way East, Suite 120.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
