inD Theatre brings dark political comedy to Rolling Bay

As the Congressional Midterms approach and the American public is more divided than at any time since the Civil War, what if there were an attempted coup d’etat?

Jason Wells’ politically-charged dark comedy, “The North Plan” — coming to Rolling Bay Hall courtesy of inD Theatre — explores exactly that, and foretells what happens next.

The island staging is directed by the internationally-acclaimed Wilson Milam and stars stage veterans Ted Dowling and Christen Muir.

“The North Plan,” named for a continuity of government plan authored by the infamous Oliver North, unfolds against the backdrop of a power grab at the highest levels of the U.S. government. A State Department whistleblower on the run is arrested in a small Ozark town, and tries to talk his way into being released from the local police station before government agents arrive and apply “enhanced interrogation techniques.”

Admission is free.

This production is for mature audiences only. It includes profanity, use of weapons, simulated violence, and content which conveys racism, sexism and “political favoritism.”

Shows are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23, and Thursday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Sept. 30 at Rolling Bay Hall.
