Gypsy jazz faves, special guest to rock BIMA stage

Perpetual Bainbridge Island stage mainstays Ranger and the Re-Arrangers will perform, with special guest Roch Lockyer, at 7 p.m. Friday, May 10 at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.

Admission is by donation; contact info@rangerswings.com to reserve a seat.

Lockyer has performed around the world with some of Gypsy jazz’s biggest stars. In 2018 he released “When Frank met Django,” a tribute to Frank Sinatra and the American songbook, done in the style of Django Reinhardt.

His playing and singing will make you think you’re sitting in a Parisian club in the 1940’s listening to these two masters meet, said group frontman Ranger Sciacca.

The concert will feature music from Ranger and the Re-Arrangers repertoire of swing standards and Gypsy melodies.
