Free jazz concert at Winslow Green

Island live music faves Ranger and the Re-Arrangers, with special guest Matt Sircely, will perform a special free outdoor concert at Winslow Green at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.

Sircely is the tremendous mandolinist of Hot Club Sandwich! He grew up in Pennsylvania and moved west to Port Townsend in 1999 with a guitar, a fiddle and a couple of mandolins. He and his band incorporate folkloric influences from around the world and play Gypsy jazz with reverence, but also light-hearted humor.

The Winslow concert will feature music from Ranger and the Re-Arrangers repertoire of swing standards and traditional Gypsy melodies.

Donations will be accepted.
