The Island School is inviting the community to celebrate civil and human rights through music, visual arts and poetry at a Civil Rights Forum that will be held at the school next week.

At the forum, students will honor civil rights workers, Japanese internees, and the human rights to dignity and a home.

The event is 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Webster Hall at the Island School and everyone is welcome.

Extra parking is available at Grace Episcopal Church next door to the school.

The Island School is an independent school educating students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school is located at 8553 NE Day Road.
