Choroloco set to rock Winslow Green

The Winslow Green summer concert series Music on the Green will continue from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 with a performance by Choroloco.

Admission is free, and audience members are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner, chairs — and dancing shoes.

Choroloco is a Seattle-based acoustic trio specializing in choro, a highly melodic and rhythmic instrumental form of Brazilian popular music. They play traditional, modern and original choro in a classic trio formation (seven-string guitar, bandolim or cavaquinho, and pandeiro), sometimes augmented with vibraphone.

They strive to stay as close to the music’s roots as possible while letting their own experience influence the music.

The remaining summer lineup includes: Nicolas Lofgren and friends on Aug. 17; The Ocean People on Aug. 24; and Psycho Sushi on Aug. 31.

Winslow Green is located at 100 Winslow Way West. Find “Winslow Green” on Facebook for the latest updates and show announcements.
