Bainbridge-based duo host welcome home concert

I AM HALO, a Bainbridge Island- and Seattle-based audiovisual electronica duo featuring Ilen Halogram (musician/audio engineer) and Audrey Lane (visual artist) will cap a European tour with a free homecoming concert at their island studio space (13021 Zanshin Lane) at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.

The show is all-ages appropriate. Donations will be accepted.

The recently capped tour was their first such overseas venture, said Lane, following their being booked to play at Björk’s Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland earlier this month.

The group is working to bridge the global entertainment scene, she said, with the Aurasphere Tour, bringing electro theatre fusion and new Virtual Reality experience with them.

Following Iceland, I AM HALO traveled to Berlin, Germany, where they curated a multimedia short film using new high-end mobile projection technology in collaboration with the Xenorama media collective at the Waschhous.

“Fans in Iceland had lots of excellent feedback for us,” Lane said. “We performed at the ‘Fem dome’ international all-female lineup at Iceland Airwaves off venue Salon Bistro, and had comments from the sound technician for the event saying we were one of his favorite surprises at Airwaves, offering a fresh new sound.

“Another reporter told us she was impressed with the amount of positive feedback she heard from crowd members who had caught our sets,” she added.

Ari Joshua, a Grammy-nominated guitarist from Seattle, joined the band on tour.

“In recent collaborations in Germany, I AM HALO has made a short film of new technology mobile projection and motion tracking device, the ‘Raumaschine’ with media collective based in Potsdam, Germany called Xenorama,” Lane said. “Ilen is the dance actor and vocalist behind the avatar character in the film.
