‘Art for the Home’ comes to The Island Gallery

The Island Gallery presents “Art for the Home” as its October exhibition.

Art is both inspirational and functional. Paintings, prints and sculptures in the home inspire our daily lives. Where we sit and sleep, how we cook and eat our food, and drink our coffee and wine, art enhances the flavor of life. Fourteen of the gallery’s artists exhibit new work — furniture, prints, ceramics, and fiber sculpture — that both inspires and provides functionality for daily living.

Participating artists are Sean Carleton, Patrick Clanton, L. Wendy Dunder, Meg Hartwell, Robin Hominiuk, Renee Jameson, Tom Johnson, Sarah Kaye, David Kellum, Jacki Moseley, Ken Pincus, Larry Roberts, Lisa Wederquist and Carl Yurdin.

The sow opens Friday, Oct. 6 and runs through Oct. 31.

An artists’ reception is 6 p.m. on First Friday, Oct. 6.

Ranger and the Re-Arrangers will provide music in concert on the plaza.

The Island Gallery is at 400 Winslow Way East, Suite 120.
