Wildsmith will bring fresh ideas to council | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I am writing to show support for Grayson Wildsmith for city council. I have known Grayson since 2008 when I first moved to Bainbridge Island. I want to tell you why he should have your vote.

I’ve thought a lot about what I wanted to say here because we are in critical times. We need strong and compassionate leaders with sound character and genuine passion for making things better. Those who know Grayson know him to be intelligent, mindful, and a gentleman. He’s proactive, takes initiative, and his impressive resume of service is proof of that.

Grayson has a long-established connection with our community. He is able to represent Bainbridge Islanders across many demographics — this is his community, his home, and he knows it’s yours too.

Having grown up close to his grandparents, Grayson is passionate about our senior community. Being the largest demographic on the island, he knows there’s a strong need for an increase in senior services and he is ready to work to provide them.

Grayson can also relate to the issues of our youth on the island. He knows that many youth feel they are in a pressure cooker. He wants to help ease that struggle, provide options, and start a dialogue, so that our youth know to handle what life throws at them.

When I think of Grayson I think intelligence, fresh ideas and frame of reference, and an unbridled passion and understanding of the community. These are the qualities we need on city council.
