She’s back: Jane and the Berry Patch | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

After a short closure, the fabled kitchen store on Bainbridge Island has relocated to a larger location in the Winslow Green on Madison Avenue.

I went to the former location in the mall a month ago only to be disappointed by seeing a sign on the door of a pending move.

Jane Pomeroy, the owner and store manager, has been like a rock to all of us who appreciate great cookware and household items like china, glassware, towels, lamps, etc. She had told me this is her 46th year of business on Bainbridge and her clientele has been very loyal supportive.

I was pleased to see convenient parking, lots of natural light and a friendly floor plan. As I said to Jane, “good changes have come from a move like this.”

As a longtime customer and one who appreciates the local service, I encourage all to stop by and visit the oldest business on Bainbridge with the same owner.

Things get better with age.
