Nassar would be excellent on council | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I am very happy to hear that Rasham Nassar is running for city council. She has all the qualifications to be an excellent new addition. She has youth, energy, intelligence and enthusiasm. She is also a new mother, which gives her added impetus to work for the healthy future of this island where she will raise her family.

She and her husband (Trenton Gibbons who is born and grew up on Bainbridge) have created a small family farm which certainly shows a commitment and interest in keeping an ecological balance on Bainbridge.

For instance, one of her concerns, is our aquifer. With all the unbridled development that is going around us, this is a vital question. Just how much development can our water resources sustain? Another important question is just how many trees can we afford to cut down for new development, before we lose the beauty of this place that drew us here in the first place? These are problems she is interested in bringing up. Please, seriously consider Rasham and vote for her, come election time.
