Kudos for service, and independence | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I read the Bainbridge Review regularly and enjoy the Letters to the Editor and the editorial page. Val Tollefsen is a friend and I think Brian Kelly does a great job of presenting a balanced and independent viewpoint.

One man said it best, Val, “Don’t pick a fight with someone who buys their ink by the barrel.”

Many people appreciate the good things that our volunteers in public life do for us. But good people can have bad ideas and we need a local editor willing to point this out.

Many of the people who have served on our council go on to become “Silverbacks” and have great influence on the city’s policies. We would be in terrible shape if our editor was in the tank to the insiders.

Thank you both for your service.
