Jones has the expertise and perspective needed | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

We are voting for Ted Jones to represent the South Ward on the Bainbridge Island City Council. Our decision is this straight-forward:

• Ted is a longtime Island resident and community volunteer, deeply imbued with the value of life on this Island, which made it the choice for where he and his wife raised their children. This inspires him to give back and work to preserve our environment and community life.

• Ted has extensive experience as a facilities engineer with the Navy. This provides him with expertise and perspective that will serve our city well as the council considers the technical feasibility and cost of future projects.

• Ted sets a priority to codify the Comprehensive Plan. He recognizes that the plan elements have no legal effectiveness without being written into city codes and ordinances.

• Ted is thoughtful, listens well, and knows how to work with diverse viewpoints to get to the best solution.

We are lucky to have Ted Jones available, willing and eager to work for the good of this Island on our city council. It is an enormous commitment of time and dedication to perform this job. Please join us in voting for Ted Jones.
