Improve safety by lowering speed limit | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Re: Fletcher Bay speed, our property is on that blind curve. It’s always been a challenge to negotiate.

We thought that the widened bike lanes would help, but it seems there are more cars, going faster. It’s very difficult and dangerous to enter the roadway at certain hours.

The Island Center Community Hall is there, too, with large functions and lots of vehicles sharing this problem.

A lower speed limit would at least allow residents time to see a car coming (from each direction) and react accordingly.

A lower speed limit is appropriate!
