Hulet is a champion for our district’s kids | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Last fall when there was a vacancy on the Bainbridge Island School Board, I reflected on who I knew in our community that would be a powerful voice for families, and had the smarts and heart to guide our school district to make the island’s schools even stronger.

Christina Hulet, whom I’d come to know both personally and professionally, immediately came to mind. She is one of the most authentic, brave and discerning leaders I know.

I reached out to her, only to learn that others were also asking and nudging her to apply. I was thrilled to learn that Christina had in fact applied and been selected to fill the remainder of a former board member’s term.

And I was even more grateful when I learned a few months back that Christina would courageously run to be elected again to serve a full term on the school board.

Christina is a champion for social emotional health, equity and inclusion in our schools. She brings not only deep passion for our children, teachers and school communities, but the professional experience as a facilitator of collective impact efforts to negotiate complex issues across diverse stakeholder groups.

As parents of three elementary age daughters, Christina has our vote and we hope you’ll join us too!
