Five reasons to vote for Christina Hulet | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I am writing in support of Christina Hulet. I am honored to know her, proud to say she is my friend, and very excited about the prospect of her continuing to serve on the school board.

I could go on and on about her, but want to be concise about my five reasons for supporting her.

First, she is a wonderful person who radiates warmth and sincerity, is infinitely approachable, a great listener, and open to new ideas. Most importantly, she is an ethical person and a practitioner of civility in her interactions with people, including those who disagree with her.

Second, prior to joining the board, she already had a long history of service to our community; valuable, real world financial and operational experience from her work at Harborview Medical Center; and policy and budget development experience through her work in state government.

Third, since joining the board she has demonstrated a deep commitment to its work, and currently is playing a leadership role in the strategically important district improvement planning process.

Fourth, Christina recognizes the importance of community involvement in the work of the district, and is dedicated to building bridges with every person, business, organization, and agency that shares her devotion to doing what’s best for our kids.

Finally, she strongly supports the district’s emphasis on supporting the social and emotional health of our youth, and working with organizations, like Bainbridge Youth Services, that share and support the district’s efforts.
