THE WEEKEND WROCK | Celebrating Callow Avenue anniversaries
April 3, 2009 · 11:22 AM
Seattle band 3 Inch Max returns to the Winterland while (Ska)dfathers The Diablotones help celebrate a couple anniversaries on Callow Avenue in this week's docket of wrock.
Seattle band 3 Inch Max returns to Winterland this weekend, joining a maximum line up. What an ambiguous name they’ve got. They take the classic power-chord punk rock to the max. Whether three inches or not, it’s straight ahead, replete with a song called “Whiskey” singing “pour me another on the rocks.”
Plenty of booze and rock to be consumed — as you’d expect from a night at Winterland. Local Gangsta Hustlas Legends on Heroin headline with The F’n A’s and an unapologetic band of (sonically) dirty punks from Port Angeles — The Fixt.
Across town, tribute, though not limited to cover songs, tribute bands Tres Hombres, Johnny Loves June and Dos Vatos get classic at the Manette while the Bremerton Pyrate Punx throw an all ages benefit for a fabled anarchist pirate colony at the Chuck — fittingly featuring the Assassinators.
All shows are $5; 21+ at Winterland and the Manette.

Legendary Seattle ska band the Diablotones don’t come to Bremerton all too often. Only for special occasions, like the coinciding of Smitty’s Tattoo shop’s 10th Anniversary with The Charleston Music Venue celebrating its first year in business. Sounds like cause for a good show, not too mention a ska show — a free ska show with not only The Diablotones but a band called Rude Tuna, and little bit of local psychobilly from Total Wreck at the Charleston, 7 p.m.
Across town, Seattle band Neon Nights brings the party to Winterland for another neon night of copious booze and rock, and ...Is Electric joins The F’n A’s and Triple Forte for a classy night of punk and stuff at the Manette.
Info: See Friday.
